Omnilert Integrates AI Gun Detection Tech With Hanwha’s VMS

Omnilert has integrated Omnilert Gun Detect with the Hanwha Vision Wisenet WAVE video management software (VMS) to provide a complete solution for gun violence and active shooters that can help save lives in the event a gunman comes onto a customer’s facilities.

“Omnilert has been supporting Hanwha customers for years,” said Mark Franken, vice president of marketing for Omnilert. “Mutual customers requested the integration, which initiated the work at this time. However, Hanwha has always been a planned integration for us given their market presence.”

Wisenet WAVE VMS is a software platform for IP video surveillance applications that detects, streams, records, and analyzes live video from connected IP cameras and networked video sources. By integrating with Omnilert Gun Detect, the Wisenet WAVE platform now has the ability to rapidly respond to detected weapons in a fraction of a second, and once verified, activate a complete and robust response that could include locking doors, notifying police, sending alerts and providing situational intelligence throughout the entire event. “Dealers and integrators can now offer a complete solution,” Franken said.

“The integration of Omnilert Gun Detect with Wisenet Wave VMS will bolster the security we can provide our joint customers to protect against the growing threat of active shooters and gun violence, which is at an all-time high in the U.S.,” said Nick Gustavsson, CTO and co-founder at Omnilert. “This means that video feeds already being managed in the WAVE platform can now be monitored 24/7 for weapons, allowing for a proactive response before shots are fired.”

“Omnilert’s gun detection platform provides especially strong gun detection analytics as well as one of the most flexible and powerful alerting systems on the market,” said Mark Heintzman, technical partnership manager at Hanwha Vision.

Omnilert Gun Detect’s end-to-end workflow of detection, activation and notification allows for an automated initiation of an organization’s active shooter response, with 24/7 monitoring and local first responder escalation, integrated notification and integration into Wisenet WAVE. “Our two companies will continue to collaborate to ensure our platforms meet the needs of our joint customers,” Franken said.

The integration enables selectable bookmarking and/or event triggering in response to a gun detection within Wisenet WAVE. The Gun Detect events can trigger multiple operations within WAVE such as sending notifications and displaying on the alarm layout. Additionally, Omnilert will automatically configure the camera set up, including IP address, camera name and location, which will help speed deployment of Omnilert’s active shooter solution. “We’re excited to be working with Hanwha and bringing more value and higher levels of protection to customers,” Franken said. //

Snap One Partners With RG Nets’ Revenue Extraction Gateway Software Solution

Snap One is partnering with RG Nets to provide Snap One partners access to the rXg solution, a new way to automate the configuration, operation and management of Access Networks WLAN infrastructure or ‘bulk Wi-Fi’ that can simplify and enhance internet access in MDUs, restaurants, entertainment venues, co-working spaces and other multi-user environments.

The new availability of rXg will greatly reduce the time and labor required to implement multi-tenant networks including those offering paid or tiered services, according to Jon Peckman, director of sales at Access Networks.

Snap One

“Snap One is always looking for new solutions and brands that can help our partners work faster, smarter and more profitably, and the RG Nets rXg software delivers on all three counts,” Peckman said. “By combining rXg’s automated network setup and management capabilities with the power and reliability of Access Networks’ newest commercial-grade networking hardware, integrators can cut hours or days off projects where VLANs are deployed, simplify ongoing management for IT managers and provide end users with automated upgrade options that don’t require any technician actions.”

rXg automates network setup and microsegmentation to reduce demands on integrators and IT managers while offering owners a simple solution to monetize internet services, including empowering end users to change their service instantly without calling anyone or having to wait for a technician. rXg is an ideal automation solution to pair with Access Networks’ enterprise-grade networking solutions such as 2.5Gbps routers, 10Gbps switches and Wi-Fi 6 WAPs so users of all kinds can enjoy reliable internet experiences.

When setting up a network, rXg eliminates the need to configure VLANS individually with an automated wizard that can create hundreds of VLANS in just minutes, which can then be managed from both the user and operator side. The ability to customize connection offerings empowers building owners to maximize efficiency, revenue and user experiences through tiered data or speed caps, limited-time data or speed boosts and intelligent traffic management such as pre-set minimum and maximum speeds.

“One of the biggest challenges in large buildings or venues is ensuring equitable, reliable internet access, whether it’s to offer specials in a sports stadium through a mobile app, stream movies in a living room or power business transactions in a storefront,” said Steve Betz, senior account executive at RG Nets. “Through rXg, Snap One partners can enhance their Access Networks installations with advanced capabilities that are either automated or simple to use, including cancellation/startup of accounts from tenant turnover, instant provisioning of services, and customizable templates that reduce setup time even further.”

For residences and lodgings, the centralized network design enables each user’s “home” network to travel with them anywhere the property provides a Wi-Fi signal, such as in a fitness center or ground-level businesses. This system design can even enable users to access their in-home networked content remotely on mobile devices or laptops.

rXg does not require expert-level training or knowledge of networking to deploy or maintain, so integration companies of all sizes can quickly expand their capabilities, the company said. Properties that use this system design also eliminate the need for tenants to arrange their own internet service or connections and ensure same-day usability without any need to arrange service calls or installation. The rXg service is available to property owners as a paid subscription based on the number of individual VLANs. //

Telguard & Hochiki Release 5G Communicator

Telguard, provider of security and life safety communications, has partnered with Hochiki America, a manufacturer of fire alarm control panels, in the development and release of the Hochiki FireNET Comm 5G communicator.

As a flexible cellular solution to the continued phasing out of plain old telephone service (POTS) lines, the FireNET Comm 5G includes a custom connector cable that adds the ability to connect the communicator to the serial data port of the Hochiki FireNET Plus alarm control panel or the VES Elite RS-H panel, a private label version by Hochiki America.

Because the Hochiki FireNET Comm 5G is a version of the Telguard TG-7FS universal communicator, dealers can still choose to connect it to the panel’s DACT port, if required.

“With the end of POTS coming, manufacturers have been making DACTs optional or unavailable on the newest version of their control panels,” said George Brody, president, Telguard. “And this cooperative partnership between Telguard and Hochiki America demonstrates our innovative ability to work directly with panel manufacturers for alternate means of delivering alarm signals.”

The FireNET Comm 5G is engineered and manufactured in the United States by Telguard and is supported by its award-winning customer and technical support services. The communicator comes available with AT&T or Verizon service and is made exclusively for Hochiki America dealers to offer to their customers. //

DMP Reveals New Wireless Packages

DMP has introduced new XTLplus Packages. The XTLplus Classic Package includes a 7-inch touchscreen keypad, three door/window contacts, a motion detector and siren. Additionally, the XTLplus Premium Package also includes a video doorbell.

These all-wireless solutions allow for easy, flexible installation. Network communication is free. Plus no NOC gives customers constant signal transmission. These systems include the following features:

XTL Plus Premium
  • Two-way wireless. Install a system with only one technician.
  • Wireless signals can’t be jammed or hacked due to 900 MHz frequency-hopping-spread-spectrum technology.
  • Reduce false alarms with the False Alarm Question. With DMP panels, in an alarm event, when a user enters their code, the siren is silenced while the panel remains in the alarm state. The user is then prompted to confirm if the event is a real alarm.
  • During an alarm state, the screen on DMP keypads turns red. They remain red until the system is reset, providing a visual warning of potential danger to anyone entering the building.
  • Easily arm/disarm areas from one screen. Quickly see the arming status of all areas and arm and disarm each one individually.
  • Verify who armed or disarmed the system by capturing snapshots of all arming and disarming events.
  • View live and recorded video. Speak to guests or delivery drivers through the video doorbell, all from the 7-inch keypad.

Installing the panel, keypad and siren in separate parts of the home or business makes the system less vulnerable to tampering. If intruders try to damage the keypad, the control panel continues sending signals to the monitoring center.

“This is a fully wireless solution that can be installed very quickly,” said Aaron McGhee, product manager of control panels at DMP. “It also allows you to take advantage of the tools we have in Dealer Admin. This system gives customers a beautiful display and all the features they desire while adding critical security measures that all-in-one solutions do not provide.”

These comprehensive packages give professional alarm dealers everything home and small business owners are expecting from a high-end security system at an extremely competitive price point. //
