Triton Buys Bosch’s Security & Communications Business

Triton, owner of Acre Security, has signed an agreement to acquire the security and communications technology product business from Bosch Group (BSCT).

The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and further customary closing conditions. It is expected to close by the end of the first half of 2025. Bosch operates globally with approx. 4,300 employees in 90 locations and generates more than €1 billion in revenue. Bosh’s offering comprises intelligent product solutions in the areas of video surveillance, access and intrusion control as well as professional communication, represented through brands such as Dynacord, Electro-Voice, RTS, and Telex.

Acre Security said in a statement, “While Acre Security and Bosch will remain independent, standalone companies under Triton’s ownership, we’re excited about the potential to collaborate and share best practices as part of the broader Triton portfolio.”

Triton continues to add to its security portfolio having acquired Wavelynx Technologies in Oct. of 2023 and Acre Security in March of 2021.

Christian Fischer, deputy chairman of the board of management, Robert Bosch GmbH, said, “It was our aim to find a suitable buyer who will acquire all three security and communications technology business units and offer their associates an outlook for the future. We have achieved that aim. Triton has presented a sustainable and credible growth strategy for the business. As an investor, moreover, it can provide a high level of industrial expertise and many years of experience in taking comparable companies forward.”

Sachin Jivanji, investment advisory professional, Triton, said, “BSCT is at the core of our investment strategy to further develop market leading companies while security and professional audio are focus areas within Triton’s Building Technology sector strategy. We do see significant market growth in the years ahead and believe BSCT is well positioned to capitalize on this. Our goal is to invest in the company’s brands, technology, sales force, and go-to-market strategies.”

In a statement, the Bosch Building Technologies division said its focus is on its regional integrator business, with solutions and services for building security, energy efficiency, and building automation. Bosch Building Technologies said its goal is to become a globally leading supplier of systems integration and to seize the attractive opportunities for growth in this segment. The product business with fire alarm systems is to be merged with the integrator business and continued, the announcement states.

Peter Loeffler, CEO, Bosch Building Technologies’ product business, said, “With Triton as our new owner, its expertise and support, we will have a strong base for further, profitable growth. We will work together to push ahead with innovations in the security and communications area — to the usual high-quality standards and with comprehensive expertise. The entire team is looking forward to making our new company a success and will remain a reliable partner for our customers.”

SIA Unveils the 2025 Security Megatrends Report

Security Megatrends, an annual publication of the Security Industry Association (SIA), provides analysis on 10 top trends affecting security industry businesses and practitioners. The report is an aggregate of insights from independent research, surveys, focus groups and sessions at the Securing New Ground (SNG) conference. The 2025 Megatrends report revealed that there is no trend larger or more impactful to the security industry than the evolution of the channel. Artificial intelligence (AI), cloud, technology upheaval, razor-thin margins, new competitors, direct-to-customer sales and delivery models and changing end-user requirements are converging to create the most challenging wave of change the channel has ever seen, felt primarily in the systems integration channel.

In SIA’s survey of members as part of the research for the 2025 Security Megatrends report, nearly 70 percent of respondents said their channel buyers are changing from the traditional security integrator, and security practitioner experts stressed a desire for integrators to be fully embedded on their teams in order for them to better understand practitioners’ needs and wants.

The 2025 Security Megatrends are:

  1. Evolution of the Channel
  2. AI: Intelligent Automation of Security
  3. Correcting the Systemic Undervaluation of Security
  4. Visual Intelligence, Not Video Surveillance
  5. IT-OT Security Convergence
  6. Platform Aggregation
  7. Democratization of Identity and Mobile Credentials
  8. Growth of Advanced Detection Technologies
  9. Shift of Influence From Hardware to Software
  10. SaaS, HaaS, DaaS and a Managed Services Future

The report offers insights into:

  • Foundational trends that have become common concerns all business leaders must manage as they operate within the security industry.
  • How technology modernization, end-user requirements and market dynamics are impacting the systems integration channel.
  • How manufacturers committed to supporting the channel can provide training and support for systems integrators, and top opportunities for integrators.
  • Key concerns regarding the application of AI to customer data and top factors limiting AI in security.
  • A mindset shift in the value proposition of security, and how it impacts other Megatrends.
