i-PRO Integrates Triton ULTRA With Video Insight VMS
i-PRO Americas Inc. announced the integration of Triton ULTRA, a multi-function health, safety, and drug detection device, with its Video Insight VMS. According to the announcement, this integration enables educational institutions to enhance campus safety through real-time environmental insights while ensuring full privacy compliance in sensitive areas like bathrooms and locker rooms, where traditional surveillance is not feasible.

“There are many challenges in the education sector; one challenge has been monitoring people inside of private areas like bathrooms and changing rooms,” said Mike Reading, manager, surveillance product category, i-PRO Americas Inc. “With the privacy that these areas afford, there has been an increase in undesirable activity. From smoking and vaping, to fighting and congregating; private areas have seen an uptick in use. The Triton ULTRA sensor provides schools with the ability to monitor those areas without using a camera or recording device. The sensor can detect many different particles in the air and generate an alert when a threshold is crossed. The Triton ULTRA can also passively monitor the number of people in an area and listen for specific keywords to also trigger alarms. These alarms can trigger a rule in Video Insight VMS to do a wide variety of tasks from starting a camera to record or creating a live window popup, to triggering a loudspeaker or alerting a Resource Officer.”
Triton ULTRA is specifically designed to detect potential health and safety concerns without cameras, audio recording, or collecting personally identifiable information.
Key features include: vape & THC detection; aggression and gunshot detection; keyword detection; and people counting and loitering detection.
Through the integration, Video Insight users can access real-time data from Triton ULTRA’s advanced sensor technology directly within the VMS dashboard, enabling them to monitor environmental conditions such as chemical levels, noise anomalies, and occupancy. Using the built-in rule manager, administrators can configure specific event triggers — like changes in air quality or sound detection — and automatically initiate security responses, such as sending alerts or activating cameras. This flexible, rules-based system allows schools to proactively address potential incidents while maintaining privacy in sensitive areas like restrooms and locker rooms.
“This partnership benefits our dealer and integrator partners by providing a best-in-class sensor, able to monitor a wide range of different metrics that come bundled with a device license to connect to the feature rich Video Insight VMS platform,” Reading said. “In the educational space where administrators, teachers, and resource officers are asked to respond to an ever-growing list of different student activities, leveraging the ability to better monitor areas using unobtrusive sensors instead of a constellation of security cameras help do more with less. Coupling the ability to detect a wide range of undesired activities with the Video Insight VMS creates the ability to provide the appropriate response to specific activities.”
Lance Parthemore, operations director, Triton, said, “The integration of Triton ULTRA with i-PRO’s Video Insight marks a significant step forward in campus safety solutions. By combining Triton’s advanced sensor technology with the comprehensive management capabilities of i-PRO’s Video Insight, customers can monitor private and sensitive spaces seamlessly from a single platform. This partnership unlocks cutting-edge insights without compromising on privacy.”
