TMA Appoints Security Central President Caroline Brown to Co-Chair 5 Diamond Committee

The Monitoring Association (TMA) announced that Caroline H. Brown, president, Security Central, has accepted the position of co-chair of the association’s Five Diamond Committee.

TMA’s Five Diamond designation is granted annually to TMA member monitoring centers that satisfy all of the requirements of the five points of excellence. In her new leadership role, Brown will work to ensure the designation remains current and reflective of excellence in security monitoring.

“As a third-generation business owner, I have a vested interest in industry programs that make my team better,” Brown stated. “This leadership position provides an opportunity for me to be involved during a pivotal time in our industry as rapid changes take place. During a time with so much consolidation, I feel this Committee is an avenue to ensure the integrity of security monitoring moving forward.”

Promoted to chief financial officer

CertaSite, a commercial fire protection and life safety company, announced that Jamie Muhlenkamp has been promoted to CertaSite’s chief financial officer. A finance visionary, Muhlenkamp joined CertaSite in October of 2021 as the corporate controller where he reportedly continually improved the overall financial experience for internal and external stakeholders, created efficiencies that allow CertaSite to grow and scale, and has been instrumental in numerous company acquisitions.

Tim Rains

Appointed chief information security officer

ADT has appointed Tim Rains chief information security officer. Rains has over 20 years of experience in the cybersecurity industry, notably from his recent tenures at T-Mobile and Amazon, and with 17 years spent at Microsoft. Rains has spearheaded initiatives in cybersecurity strategy, assurance, compliance, vulnerability management, risk management and governance — all areas that ADT said it prioritizes to ensure the safety of its customers through its security systems and services.

Promoted to vice president

Acoustic Design Systems (ADS) announced the promotion of Amanda Crigar to vice president. In her new role, Crigar spearheads the development of new efficiencies, procedures, and training programs while overseeing day-to-day operations by leading the company’s sales, marketing, finance, accounting, human resources, and administrative departments. Bringing over two decades of industry expertise, Crigar became an integral part of ADS in 2019, assuming the role of director of marketing and business development.

Boulgarides’ addition expands Security-Net’s reach on the West Coast and brings its membership total to 18 security integration company partners in North America. Boulgarides brings to Security-Net a diverse and extensive career in the security industry. With more than 33 years of experience, he has a strong background in cloud-based solutions, including managed services. His company operates a global security operations center (GSOC) where the focus is on providing customers with alarm and video monitoring, along with managed services, according to an announcement.

Hired as director of commercial facilities

Intelligent Security Systems (ISS) announced that industry veteran Charles Burns has joined the company and will serve in the newly created role of director of commercial facilities. With more than two decades of experience, ISS said Charles Burns will work to drive increased adoption of ISS’ industry-leading video intelligence solutions in stadiums, arenas, convention centers, and other large-scale commercial facilities throughout North America. Burns, who originally began his career in law enforcement with the Indiana State Police, has an extensive background in the spectator sports industry.

Joined as director of operations for its building technology division

NSI Industries announced that James (Jim) Thivierge has joined the company as director of operations for its building technology division. Thivierge will oversee the unit’s operations in California, Ohio and Pennsylvania and will report to David DiDonato, building technology business unit president. With a bachelor’s degree in corporate finance from Southern New Hampshire University, Thivierge joins NSI after more than 17 years at Allied Wire & Cable, a part of Genuine Cable Group (GCG).
