LenelS2 Launches OnGuard Cloud Access Control Platform

LenelS2 has launched OnGuard Cloud, a managed service leveraging Amazon Web Services (AWS) to deliver the OnGuard access control system in the cloud.

“OnGuard is one of the top enterprise access control platforms in the industry, offering the most integrations and comprehensive feature set available, with decades of proven reliability serving end users around the globe, including more than half of the Fortune 100,” said John Smith, OnGuard Cloud solutions product leader, LenelS2. “Now, enterprise customers don’t have to sacrifice features and functionality to benefit from a cloud solution. By offering OnGuard through a full-cloud deployment option, LenelS2 offers all the flexibility and reliability of OnGuard and adds the benefits of cloud to help deliver greater value to end users.”

OnGuard Cloud allows organizations to focus on their security operations by eliminating the IT burden of managing and maintaining their OnGuard software and servers, all while maintaining control over their unique environment configurations. LenelS2 is part of Honeywell, a provider of building automation solutions.

“LenelS2 makes it easy for integrators to quote and sell OnGuard Cloud,” Smith said. “Based on a price-per-reader model, OnGuard Cloud includes the most sought-after access control software features, streamlined licensing, software support, upgrades, monitoring and more. The pricing model is transparent and simple with no hidden surprises for integrators or end users.”

According to an announcement, a growing number of enterprise-level security customers have moved their other key business platforms to the cloud, and 82 percent of organizations plan on transitioning their access control solution to the cloud within two years.

“OnGuard Cloud was developed to provide a cloud option for customers (LenelS2 and non-LenelS2 alike) to migrate their legacy on-premises access control solution and realize the benefits of cloud deployment,” Smith said. “The common theme LenelS2 heard from customers is, “All of my other systems are in the cloud except my security system.’”

Key features and benefits of OnGuard Cloud include:

  • The replacement of on-premises server hardware with a custom-configured, resilient cloud service powered by AWS services and cybersecurity best practices
  • 24/7/365 support, proactive health monitoring, and system redundancy to drive efficiency, high availability, peace of mind, and help maximize uptime
  • Automatic updates and maintenance, reducing the burden on in-house IT staff and additional costs
  • Access to the full range of capabilities available within the OnGuard ecosystem, including LenelS2’s OpenAccess Alliance Program technology partner integrations, allowing customers to take advantage of the OnGuard platform’s wealth of customizable and certified integrations directly within a cloud-based solution
  • All-inclusive licensing for the most sought-after features, including badge printing, visitor management, advanced reporting and more.
  • Comprehensive white-glove service for organizations transitioning to OnGuard Cloud, delivering on customer outcome goals and operating environment requirements that extends all the way through implementation and training
  • Access and ease of migration to newer versions of the OnGuard platform as they become available to the cloud given the use of AWS and common services, providing a seamless experience to new capabilities as they become available.

“OnGuard Cloud helps break down the barriers for customers who have not been able to move their security system to the cloud,” Smith said. “OnGuard Cloud provides a solution for integrators who are looking to meet their customers’ needs while reducing labor and support costs, in addition to generating additional service revenue from a cloud-hosted solution.” //

This new milestone means that the number of ONVIF-conformant, interoperable products has doubled in the last three years and tripled since 2018. Security systems integrators and end users around the world rely on products that conform to ONVIF interoperability standards to create security systems using best of breed components, regardless of manufacturer, to meet the specific needs of their organizations.

“The demand for open systems is growing exponentially as organizations increasingly prioritize interoperability and freedom of choice for their security systems and beyond,” said Leo Levit, chairman of the ONVIF Steering Committee. “The rapid growth rate in ONVIF conformant products exemplifies that market demand as well as to the work of our member companies that have established these successful specifications.”

As a technical alliance, ONVIF creates interoperability specifications that provide standardized communication pathways for several security and surveillance industry use cases, including basic and advanced video streaming, metadata handling for video analytics, video recording and storage, as well as physical access control. Companies that are members of ONVIF contribute to committees and specialized working groups to create these specifications, and are currently working on new ONVIF standards, known as profiles, in the areas of cloud connectivity, IP audio and advanced metadata. //

Allegion Integrates Pure Access Cloud With TagMaster NA RFID Reader

Allegion US announced a new integration with TagMaster North America (TMNA), a provider of intelligent vehicle identification solutions (License Plate Recognition (LPR) and RFID) to enhance vehicle ID and tracking with a minimal hardware footprint.

This strategic collaboration combines Allegion’s Pure Access Cloud software and IP Bridge hardware with TagMaster NA’s edge-computing long-range RFID Reader and passive tags, creating a seamless and powerful solution for various industries including law enforcement, healthcare, education and more, the announcement states.

Allegion

Allegion’s Pure Access Cloud software provides a complete access control platform allowing for full installation, administration and management of its access control hardware. The modern user interface enables ease-of-use in managing a number of access points across any geography through a mobile device, tablet or browser. Pure Access Cloud brings functionality to access control that fully leverages the power of the IP Bridge hardware solution, according to the announcement.

“At Allegion, we are dedicated to delivering access control solutions that cater to the diverse needs of our customers,” said Jonathan Mooney, sales leader, Allegion. “Our access control solution is ideal for both interior and exterior doors. However, we understand that sometimes our customers’ requirements extend beyond our core offering. To address these unique needs, Allegion provides the capability and flexibility to integrate additional third-party solutions. A prime example of this is our partnership with TagMaster NA, whose long-range vehicle identification solution enhances our access control capabilities beyond facility doors.”

The integration between Pure Access Cloud and TagMaster NA enables the triggering of multiple devices (such as a site with a barrier arm and multiple gates), from a single credential read event, streamlining operations by reducing the need for additional hardware installation expense and time while also enhancing security measures. This multi-trigger capability increases efficiency and ensures a more comprehensive and scalable approach to access control management.

One of the key highlights of this integration is the ability to seamlessly integrate TagMaster NA’s AVI technology with the Pure Access Cloud software while providing a variety of customizable tag programming and design options. TMNA AVI solutions offer Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+ and PoE++) integration, passive cost-effective tags, and high-performance, accurate identification solutions. This integration enhances the functionality of Allegion’s Pure Access Cloud Software and IP Bridge Hardware while creating new customizable possibilities for customers seeking advanced security solutions.

“We are delighted to join forces with Allegion to offer integrated solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers,” said Ali Khaksar, president, TagMaster NA. “Our AVI technology greatly complements Pure Access Cloud, providing businesses with a comprehensive solution that enhances safety and convenience.” //
